How Rehab received more than €80 million in State funding last year

first_imgTHE BELEGURED REHAB Group received more than €80 million in State funding last year.The figures, revealed in a letter handed over to the Oireachtas financial watchdog, show that the Rehab Group received a total of €82.2 million from the State.Rehab received €27 million from training body Solas, which replaced Fás, last year.Rehab and its CEO Angela Kerins have been repeatedly criticised for refusing to reveal how much she is being paid, despite some of the group’s activities being in the not-for-profit sector.Around 60 per cent of the Group – which says it works for social and economic inclusion for people with disabilities – is in the commercial sector with the remainder in the not-for-profit area.The board of the Rehab Group is due to meet this month to decide whether or not to disclose how much Kerins is paid.
