Share20 Tweet Email Jun 18th 2018, 4:55 PM Image: Shutterstock/Phubes Juwattana http://jrnl.ie/4077014 Monday 18 Jun 2018, 4:55 PM By Cliodhna Russell Image: Shutterstock/Phubes Juwattana 18 Comments YOUTUBE MUSIC IS now available in Ireland as Google has expanded the service to 17 countries from today.The streaming service was launched last month in America, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.It offers both an ad-supported free option or an ad-free subscription service for €9.99 a month.Both YouTube Music and YouTube Music Premium allow users to search for a song even if you can’t remember the name of it.Google’s smart search means some inaccurate lyrics or a description of the song should be enough to track it down.In a release it said: “Try ‘that hipster song with the whistling’ or ‘that rap song with flute’”, adding, “You can also search by lyrics (even if they’re wrong)”.YouTube says the service doesn’t just offer music videos, but that “official albums, singles, remixes, live performances, covers and hard-to-find music you can only get on YouTube” are all available.YouTube Music Premium also gives customers an ‘offline mixtape’ that automatically downloads songs that are played regularly.
